Note from PYFA Cheer Director

The Panhandle Youth Football Association (PYFA) Cheer Program is designed to build confident, skilled, and team-oriented athletes while supporting the overall mission of youth football. Our cheerleaders are an essential part of the game day experience, bringing energy, spirit, and pride to their teams and communities.

PYFA Cheer focuses on more than just sideline performance. Our program emphasizes fundamentals in cheer technique, including motions, jumps, stunts, and crowd leadership, while also fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. Cheerleaders have the opportunity to grow both athletically and personally in a structured, supportive environment.

Each association within PYFA operates its own cheer program while following league guidelines to ensure consistency, safety, and quality across all organizations. Cheerleaders participate throughout the football season, supporting their teams at games and community events.

A highlight of the PYFA Cheer season is our annual cheer competition. This event brings together all participating associations to showcase routines that reflect months of hard work, creativity, and dedication. Teams are evaluated using a standardized rubric to ensure fairness and consistency, and the competition provides an exciting and rewarding experience for athletes at all levels.

PYFA Cheer continues to grow each year, welcoming new associations who are looking to provide a positive, structured, and competitive cheer experience for their athletes. Our program is built on community, collaboration, and a shared commitment to developing young athletes both on and off the field.
